CHIP Sign Language Curriculum

Approximately half of the families receiving services from CHIP choose a communication approach that includes the use of sign language.  In-home sign language instruction provides the opportunity for parents to learn sign language in their natural environment.  The sign language instructor helps family members develop the sign skills they need to provide a language-rich model for their child.  The CHIP sign language instructor can be an important member of the family’s intervention team, helping parents to become skilled sign communicators.
