CSDB Receives Accreditation

The Colorado State  Board of Education has granted CSDB the status of full educational accreditation for a period extending from July 1, 2000, through June 30, 2007. Gary Sibigtroth, the Colorado Department of Education's Regional Manager for the Pikes Peak region, presented the Certificate of Accreditation to Marilyn Jaitly and the CSDB Advisory Board at their meeting on September 19, 2000.

CSDB is the first school district in Colorado to receive their Certificate of Accreditation. Our Accreditation Contract has become a model for other school districts that need to address accreditation issues for students with special needs.

Marilyn Jaitly and the Advisory Board thank the many staff members who worked on our Accreditation Contract, particularly the members of the Accreditation Team: Diane Beard, PJ Jackson, Mary Katungu, Barb Meese, Randy Witte, Carol Hilty, Dave Farrell, and Nick Sims.

Commissioner Moloney has also expressed his thanks and congratulations to CSDB for completing our educational plan in accordance with HB 98-1267 and SB 00-186 which gave the State Board of Education responsibility to enter into an accreditation plan with each school district by July 1, 2001.
