FCEE students in the water

A female teacher and a male aide support two young girls, who are blind, in the swimming pool.In the Family-Centered Early Education program, students, who are blind/ visually impaired, started a new bi-weekly adventure! Collaborating with the YMCA to support physical fitness, staff members introduced students to the swimming pool. The initial experience was a little scary. However, students were supported with exploring the water and then slowly became unattached from their 1-1 adult. After the first few sessions, they have become like little fish!  Students, parents and teachers have seen tremendous growth such as students going underwater, learning to float, and learning to coordinate hands and legs like little Olympians.
