Descripton: A alternative to laptop computers, the Dana uses the Palm OS and can be loaded with any Palm OS software. You can type or enter data using the keyboard or by writing with the Dana stylus directly onto the screen. With Dana, you can: print directly to selected printers; add MultiMediaCard (MMC) or Secure Digital (SD) cards; and easily exchange files with many popular PC applications like Microsoft Word and Excel.

Sample Educational Use: Students can use the Dana to take notes and outline papers. Description: Neo is easy to use, lightweight, and affordable — designed to provide a wide range of computing capability on its own, and to integrate effortlessly with desktop and laptop computers. It is a less expensive alternative to the Dana, but doesn't have quite the computing capability. It has a smaller screen than the Dana. It has a built in word processor like the Dana, but cannot use Palm OS software. It is compatible with Macintosh and Windows computers.

Sample Educational Use: The Neo is a portable technology that allows word processing, keyboarding, assessment and other uses. It can use a Co-Writer applet to assist special needs students write by suggesting words that they start to type.

Descripton: The iCommunicator consists of a laptop computer, software, wireless microphone and receiver. The speaker trains the speech recognition software (Dragon Naturally Speaking) to his or her voice, then wears the microphone in any situation where the user wants to have the transcription available. The transcription can be saved and used later for review of the lecture.
