EIPA Appeals Process

To begin the appeals process an interpreter will have 45 days after receiving their results.  It is the interpreter’s responsibility to submit in writing specific details about why he or she believes the rating is not valid.  All identifying make on the information provided to the appeals committee will be blacked out for the purposes of confidentiality and objectivity.

There is a committee set up to review all appeals.  The chairperson for this committee will be a member of the Task Force that has implemented the process for state verification.  The other members of the committee will be pulled on an ad hoc basis from a pool of people who are knowledgeable about interpreting and the EIPA.

This committee will then review the validity of the EIPA results in question based upon the candidates specific concerns.  The candidate will then hear back from the committee with in 30 days.  If the Appeals Committee feels that more information would be useful in making a decision they may ask Boys Town to re-evaluate a test.

There will also be a $50.00 fee for the Appeals process.  If the appeal is found to be in favor of the interpreter the fee will be refunded.  If there are any questions please contact Ali, Boyle, Educational Interpreter Coordinator at (303) 506-9316 or via e-mail at ali.boyle@bvsd.k12.co.us
