The Colorado School for the Deaf and the Blind (CSDB) is Colorado's statewide Preschool–12th grade residential school with postsecondary transition programs, located in Colorado Springs. As a Deaf-, Blind-, and Deafblind-led learning community, CSDB empowers students to build knowledge, confidence, independence, and leadership in an environment where language, identity, and belonging are foundational.
CSDB includes the School for the Deaf, the School for the Blind, Bridges to Life transition program, and statewide Outreach Programs. Through rigorous academics, individualized instruction, inclusive learning environments, residential life, athletics, arts, and student leadership opportunities, students develop the skills to thrive in school, work, and life. Bridges to Life supports young adults as they prepare for employment, postsecondary education, independent living, and active participation in their communities.
Beyond its Colorado Springs campus, CSDB partners with families, educators, and local school districts across the state through Outreach Programs and early childhood services, including coordination of the Colorado Home Intervention Program (CHIP) for Deaf and Hard of Hearing children from birth to age three.
CSDB is also home to the Colorado Instructional Materials Center (CIMC), which produces and distributes braille, large print, digital, and other accessible instructional materials for eligible Blind and Low Vision students throughout Colorado, helping ensure equitable access to learning statewide.
