ASL Immersion for Professionals

Three ladies and a man use ASL to sign "mother."The American Sign Language (ASL) Immersion for Professionals, recently hosted by CSDB, had 32 participants who work in schools, as well as in the health care field, with people, who are deaf and hard of hearing. Attendees participated in ASL instruction and activities, with the goal of increasing sign fluency and communication. The attendees also had opportunities to interact with mentors, who are deaf, on a one-to-one basis, to ensure their priorities for learning sign vocabulary, specific to their own needs, were met.
