College and Career Fair

Students and families had the opportunity to discuss post-secondary education options, future employment opportunities, and adult agency supports, with twenty different vendors. Representatives from Red Rocks Community College, Pikes Peak Community College,  University of Colorado at Colorado Springs, Gallaudet, and CU Boulder attended the fair and students received valuable information, on next steps, to pursuing higher education and post-school training opportunities. Local employers, such as Service Source, Goodwill, Sorenson, and Envision were available to discuss prerequisite skills and abilities needed to enter the workforce after high school. Agencies that assist children and adults, and persons with disabilities, attended the fair to discuss available resources related to post-school education, employment, health and wellness, and navigating the legal aspects of adulthood. These agencies included Legal Services of Colorado, the Independence Center, Aspen Pointe, Atlantis, DVR, The Colorado Center for the Blind, Helen Keller, and Job Corps.Several students talk with exhibitor at a table.
