Family Learning Retreat
Twenty-one families, with children who are deaf/hard of hearing, attended the 2015 Family Learning Retreat on the CSDB campus. The adults who attended, participated in discussions about love and family dynamics, listened to role models share information, and learned about ways to incorporate music and movement into family activities. The children spent time playing together, with a variety of outdoor activities and indoor arts.
The families, along with teachers who are deaf/ hard of hearing, visited the Cheyenne Mountain Zoo as a language learning experience. Several adults commented they plan to slow down and incorporate more language into their home environment as well as during community outings.
