Fun with covalent bonds

A collage of pictures showing students making and showing off their tie-dye projectsThe School for the Deaf high school physical science class engaged in a tie-dying chemistry lab to ‘kick off’ their chemical bonding and reactions unit. They used chemical products to understand how certain chemical products bond/react. For example, fiber reactive dyes attach permanently to cellulose fibers using a covalent bond.  Covalent bonding is one of the strongest types of chemical bonds.
