The Communication Contest for the Deaf and Hard of Hearing, held recently at CSDB, provided an opportunity for young people, who are deaf or hard of hearing, to communicate in a public forum while developing valuable skills and confidence. The students wrote and presented speeches on the topic, selected by Optimist International, “Where are my roots of optimism?” The contestants presented in sign language or orally to the judges and audience.

The top three winners will move on to the district contest competing for a $2,500 scholarship. Thank you to the Optimist Club, for their efforts during the event.
